No, it's not Kermit the Frog. For a team nicknamed 'The Dragons' it's a little surprising that the front of the new FC Porto away jersey is emblazoned with an image of a cute little green frog. The sponsor 'sapoadsl', a Portuguese communications company, uses the little green fellow as it's mascot.
We're not sure if fans, or indeed the players, of 'Os Tripeiros' are too thrilled at having a cartoon frog take center stage on their club's jersey. If any Porto supporters out there can let us know we'd be curious to find out if the frog is getting a pass with the fans. Email us at staff@onionbag.com
You've got to love the colors Nike uses, they just really pop and give the jersey a really fresh clean look. The FitDry material used is the best of all in the world of soccer jerseys in our opinion, it's by far the most comfortable and breathable fabric currently being used.
Inscribed on the collar are the words 'A vence desde 1893' which reflect the teams success since it's inception on September 28th, 1893.
We are now offering authentic names and numbers, plus the Liga Sagre sleeve badge, for Argentinian stars Lucho Gonzalez and Lisandro Lopez. Click on the picture to buy now.

08/09 Cardiff City Home

It's the end of an era at Ninian Park in the Welsh capital of Cardiff. Last years FA Cup Final underdogs are leaving their long time home and moving to new digs next season. The new 08/09 Home kit made by Joma has just got the right mix of style and history with nods to the Bluebirds past glories. The detail on the inside collar pays homage to City's 1-0 giant-killing of Arsenal in the 1927 FA Cup Final at Wembley.
It's a similar to the jersey City wore in last years FA Cup Final, where they lost 1-0 to Portsmouth, only the black has been replaced by a shade of blue perhaps more familar to City fans of the 70's, along with the club crest featuring a daffodil and dragon that has been resurrected for the 2008/2009 season and onwards after being selected by a fan vote organised to decide the clubs badge and style of kit for their final season at Ninian Park.
Ninian Park will host its last ever competitive football match on 25 April 2009, which is Cardiff City versus Ipswich Town, before moving to their new stadium in the Leckwith area of Cardiff. Opened in 1910 Ninian Park has seen more than just football games, both Bob Marley and Pope John Paul II made appearances at Ninian Park (not to see City though !) and the venue was also used for show jumping during the 1958 Commonwealth Games.
Each shirt comes wrapped in this fold out flyer that contains an illustrated history of Ninian Park.

Some of the details on the shirt also include a badge near the bottom hem on the back of the jersey, as well as the Welsh flag on the left sleeve.
Currently plying his trade in front of the Grange End's vociferous (and occasionally violent) supporters is American international Eddie Johnson on a season long loan from Fulham. As far as we know, onionbag.com is the only US outlet for Cardiff City jerseys in the USA. Let us know if we are wrong !
